Silly Boys

Silly Boys

One of the other small changes was have made was to construct a fence across the driveway. Being close to a main road I have often worried what would happen if the horses got loose.

One lazy evening I gather the boys, horses, to feed. The weather man said that we would get storms that night so I decided to leave the boys in for the night. Rio often chases Mark out of the run in. I think Rio likes having the large run in for just himself and Tar. Poor Mark gets left out.
After making sure all was well in the barn; you know sweeping up the hay and split gain, feeding the cats, playing with the cats, playing with the dog, getting the horses settled for the night... I returned to the house. Upon arriving in the mud room, I removed my shoes and noticed a dark object outside of the barn. Rio had decided that the hay in his stall was not satisfactory and the grass outside looked much more appealing. So he promptly let himself out after I left and started to graze just outside the big door.
Carl and I jumped to action and I easily grabbed the escape artist. As I returned the unhappy Rio to his stall, Carl found a handy double end snap to "lock" his cell, I mean stall door. It was right then and there that I decided to spend the next dry weekend digging holes for a safety fence.
