Even though all of the big stuff is done, there is still plenty to do. This past labor day weekend, Carl and I spent our time building jump components. We managed to create two sets of flower boxes, two small standards, a gate and a coop (the triangular thing). Now all I have to do is wait for my polls and standards to be delivered and I will be jumping again.
As a challenge I walked Rio up to the gate to see what he thought of such a thing. To my surprise, well....not really, he walked right over it. He seems to enjoy jumping over things!!

Mark and Jack watch as Rio is being lunged for the first time in a saddle and with flower boxes placed conveniently placed so Rio had to jump them. Once Rio realized that the saddle was attached and not coming off, he actually started aiming for the boxes only to leap over as if trying to improve his style, or to show off for the onlookers. He even changed his lead after landing on the wrong one!!!! What a smart boy.
