Say Cheese!!

Say Cheese!!

So yeah, on quiet days when it is just too cold to work with the horses I often follow them around with my camera at my side. Bundled up to keep my toes and fingers from turning into ice cubes, I sit and wait for the right moment. Hey, it beats doing housework!!!

If I am lucky I can get a picture like this......

I wonder if Rio is actually trying to catch snowflakes or is just wondering why I am sitting there in the snow covered grass and not giving him a treat. Being one of the most expressive horses I have ever worked with makes him so much fun to be around. And I love it when I catch him on the camera. FYI, Rio loves his ears rubbed and a good scratch under his chin. If it was not for his height, I would think he was a dog!

No one is safe when I have my camera, Cricket and Kali share a sun ray on one of the coldest days we have had so far. I think it reached a whole 18 degrees that day.  Typically Cricket would move away, she does not like sharing, But I think the draw of the warm sun and the heat vent she is laying on helped her tolerate the presence of Kali.

Ever get that feeling that you are disturbing someone? 6-Toe and Fry do not look happy to see me. I did just wake them up to get a picture of them taking advantage of there new house in the garage. Can we say the most spoiled barn cats ever.

So I did not actually take this picture, Carl did, but I could not resist adding it. Via the cat tree, 5-Toe decided to explore the top of our window. Once he got up there he quickly realized that it really was not a good idea and had to backtrack to get down. I wonder if he misses climbing up to the hay loft.
