Jack is Back!

Jack is Back!

The big news around the barn is that Jack is back in lessons!!

After a tragic injury last July, Jack has made a tremendous recovery. One morning we discovered that he had severed a tendon in a hind leg. There were no external injuryies so we had no clue to how it happened. Thankfully, after a lot of rest, attention, love, and prayers Jack is sound! With a gentle start in May, Jack is back to work. Sadly because of the tendon injury, he will never be able to jump as he did before. Currently he is in flat lessons and working on ground polls. Over time I am hopeful that we can try cross rails, but only time will tell. We are all thrilled that he is able to return to work.

We have been very busy with projects (like always) this summer: working on fencing, flowers boxes, and better drainage in the ring...

Gummy Bear is also now doing lessons for some of the more experienced riders. Having only about 90 days of training, Gummy is making wonderful progress. His canter is getting more balanced and he is learning how to pick up his feet over jumps. We are planning his first show in August.

We love our Mia! She is a wonderful teacher. I know Mia can be a bit lazy at times, but she is one of the kindest horses I have ever worked with.

Issy with his owner and Rio and I went to a wonderful show recently. Having the perfect weather made it easy to have a wonderful time. Issy and his owner took 4th in a flat class and went on to win a jumping class. Rio won a jumping and flat class, and placed 2nd and 5th in two other classes.
